High-Pressure Digesters for Alumina Refineries

ASME-certified Bayer Process digesters engineered for high-pressure bauxite digestion, caustic resistance, and refinery-grade reliability.

Digesters for Alumina Refineries: Engineered for Maximum Efficiency

Digesters for alumina refineries are the heart of the Bayer Process, where bauxite reacts with hot caustic soda under high pressure to form sodium aluminate liquor. At KRR, we design and manufacture specialized digesters for alumina refineries, ensuring high corrosion resistance, stable thermal performance, and a long operational life.

We build tube-type continuous digesters, autoclave digesters, and flash digesters suitable for gibbsite, boehmite, and diaspore bauxites. Our engineered digesters ensure refinery uptime and optimize alumina recovery, making them ideal for the demanding conditions of alumina refining.

Applications in Aluminium Refining

Aluminium Refining Bayer Process Digestion

The Bayer process is used to extract alumina (aluminium oxide) from bauxite, which is the primary raw material for aluminium production. High-pressure digesters are employed to dissolve the alumina from the bauxite ore using a caustic soda solution.

Continuous Digestion Trains

Continuous digestion trains streamline the Bayer process by maintaining a steady flow of bauxite and caustic solution, ensuring optimal alumina extraction. These systems enhance efficiency by minimizing downtime and improving throughput

Flash Digestion Circuits

Flash digestion circuits use rapid pressure and temperature changes to extract alumina more efficiently, reducing the need for long residence times. This process significantly improves energy efficiency and accelerates the extraction of alumina from bauxite.

Gibbsite/Boehmite/Diaspore Bauxite

Gibbsite, Boehmite, and Diaspore are different types of bauxite ores with varying degrees of processing difficulty. Each type requires specific treatment conditions in the Bayer process to achieve maximum alumina recovery, with Gibbsite being the easiest to process.
