Hemispherical, Torispherical and Semi-elliptical Dished heads of diameter 2500 mm can be made with a single blank while dished ends and spheres of larger diameters could be formed by petal construction with no limitation in sizes.
On specific demands for complex profiles, dies and punches are developed by research on the geometry of the profile, material properties such as yield tensile stress and ultimate tensile stress. KRR has wide experience in dealing with various metals and alloys, including exotic metals like Titanium, also they have experimented with dies and punches designed with the aid of CAD softwares in various sizes and materials for the required profile.
Cold forming is done upto 50 mm thick, the geometry and stress calculations are critical while forming in cold. Where as hot forming involves a lot more criticalities in maintaining desired temperature and shrinkage calculations. Hot forming could be done up to 150mm thick.
